    JamesBy JamesSeptember 27, 2023

You worry about how your family will manage financially when you have to miss work due to a work-related injury. Who is going to foot the tab for your ever-increasing medical expenses? How will your family finance the rent and groceries when you can not work because of your injuries?

Workers’ compensation benefits may be available to you if you were hurt in the “course and scope” of your employment or while performing your job duties. What you need to know is below. To learn more, click here

    Compensation for Employee Losses

In the event of a work-related injury, employees may be eligible for workers’ compensation benefits, including:

    • All hospitalization and medical expenses are covered.
    • Payments equal to 66% of your typical weekly salary (up to $983 in 2022).

Furthermore, your dependents may be entitled to death or dependency benefits through the workers’ compensation system if the injury proves fatal.

What to Do If You Suffer an Injury on the Job?

The result of your workers’ compensation claim is highly dependent on the actions you take in the hours, days, and weeks following an on-the-job injury. Here is what you can do to safeguard your entitlements and secure your just compensation.

    • See a Doctor

Accident at work leave you injured? It is crucial to both your health and your workers’ compensation claim that your injuries be assessed and treated by a licensed medical specialist. Your hospital bills should be reimbursed by workers’ compensation as long as they are for a medically necessary stay. Do not know what to expect from your doctor in terms of what is “reasonable and necessary.” There is support available from us.

    • Please File a Report on the Inciden

Whether you were able to do so before or after you were hospitalized, you should let your employer know about the workplace accident and the injuries you sustained. If at all possible, use your company’s established procedure for reporting accidents and injuries. The law requires that you report your injuries to your employer as soon as feasible; it does not specify any particular organizational process you must follow.

    • Do Not Forget to Tell your Primary Care Doctor

Tell your regular doctor you were harmed on the job so they can coordinate care with the hospital staff. Employees who have been injured on the job have the right to choose their own physician to treat their injuries, but you may be obliged to see a specialist selected by your employer’s workers’ compensation insurance. Get your questions answered by a qualified attorney by talking to one.

    • Take Notes on Your Recollections

Write down as much information as you can recall about the workplace accident, including what happened, who saw it, and whether or not unsafe conditions or other variables had a role. Write down your thoughts or record them on your phone.

    • Talk to a Workers’ Compensation Lawyer

Keeping up with your workers’ compensation claim while bedridden might be a major hassle. There is much too much risk for one person to handle alone. You will not have to, thankfully. While you focus on getting better, let your workers’ compensation attorney handle all the legal details.
