Minimum Marks Required for MBBS in Government Colleges
The minimum marks required to be eligible for MBBS admission in Government Colleges in 2020 is 50% for the General category and 40% for the Reserved category. The marks required to qualify for admission to medical colleges in the General category is higher than the Reserved category due to the number of applicants and the limited number of seats available.
NEET 2020 Criteria for Admission
To be eligible for MBBS admission in Government Colleges through NEET 2020, a candidate must:
- Have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects
- Have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 examination for the General category, and 40% for the Reserved category
- Have qualified in the NEET 2020 examination with a minimum of 50% marks for the General category and 40% for the Reserved category
- Have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission
NEET 2020 has also introduced a new rule wherein the candidates who have cleared their 10+2 examination in 2019 or 2020 are eligible to apply for MBBS admission in Government Colleges as long as they fulfill all other criteria.
