History of Lal Bahadur Shastri College
The college was established in 1971 by the Government of India in collaboration with the Shipping Corporation of India as a National Maritime Institute. It was initially known as the National Maritime Institute, Mumbai but was later renamed as Lal Bahadur Shastri College of Advanced Maritime Studies and Research in honour of the late Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri. The college is located in the bustling city of Mumbai and is spread across a sprawling campus of 10 acres.
