- Z-Library has established itself as a hub for educational resources, offering students and educational institutions free access to a comprehensive collection of over 14 million academic and scientific digital resources. Our global reach is fortified with over 150 distribution points providing access to physical literature in 42 countries.
Driven by our mission to deliver both digital and physical resources to educational institutions, we embarked on a quest to identify the institutions actively incorporating Z-Library. Our interest extended to understanding the unique ways these institutions leverage our platform. Following a meticulous analysis of data from Z-Library’s international community, we’re pleased to share this comprehensive report!
Getting to Know the Z-Library Community: How We Collected and Analyzed Data
Before diving into statistics, let us first discuss how we gathered data about the Z-Library. We will also explain how we categorized university users.
When collecting and analyzing our data, we determined where our users were from through the domain zones where our users’ email addresses were located. If, for example, a user’s email says “*@utoronto.ca,” we can conclude that the user is either an employee or a student of the University of Toronto.
This data collection method is quite reliable, and we are confident in the statistics
gathered. Utilizing this method, we discovered that our platform is being used by over 30,000 educational institutions worldwide. These institutions span all academic levels – universities, colleges, and schools.
We have a notably large number of users from China. In fact, the number was so great that we decided to combine the largest universities from this country into one line, in the graph below.
It should be noted that the values and graphs above are conservative estimates since not all who use our service register with their university email addresses. Still, these estimates are reliably accurate and provide a valuable glimpse into how Z-Library is helping scholars and institutions worldwide.

What is Next For The Z-Library Community?
At Z-Library, we care about providing and other resources for students, teachers, and institutions all over the world. That is why seeing the growth of the Z-Library community is an exciting and encouraging development.
So, what is next for the Z-Library community? We have established the first physical libraries, or “Z-Points,” in 42 countries. We are eagerly looking forward to establishing our physical libraries in even more locations worldwide.
Additionally, we have introduced many features for our members in recent months. For example, users can exchange physical books with other members. Users will soon be able to send books by mail to be borrowed by other members.
